New Members

Cochrane Search & Rescue is recruiting new members for 2022.

If interested in joining Cochrane Search & Rescue, we will be holding 3 information sessions. These information nights will be held at the Cochrane Royal Canadian Legion, to enter the legion you will need to show proof COVID-19 vaccination to enter the building. This is according to the Government of Alberta state of emergency COVID-19 bylaws of operational compliance. Please click on one of 3 dates available bellow.

Things to know prior to information nights
Cochrane Search and Rescue requires all members to have a current and up to date criminal background check. We have also updated our COVID-19 bylaws to align with our callout agencies that all members must have proof of vaccination.
New Member Requirements:
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Annual Total Commitment of 40 hours of:
    • Training
    • Fundraising Events
    • Searching
Steps to becoming a member of Cochrane Search and Rescue
1. Attend 1 of 3 information nights from October to December
-please register ahead of time by clicking the dates above and registering on Event Brite
-at these information nights, if you choose to apply you will be given an interview date
2. Personal Interview with Cochrane Search and Rescue Members
3. If chosen for the 2022 intake the following forms will need to be filled out and returned.
-Attend 1 information session
-Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
RCMP
-Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
-Any relevant certifications (First Aid, ICS 100, etc)
4. Please email all document to member relations
