In 2016 we have received incredible support from our close community and beyond.
This year we have been lucky to receive donations from organizations such as the Cochrane Foundation and the United Commercial Traveler. The money gifted via these two organizations went towards much needed mapping software and hardware, updated hand held GPS software and sending our Senior Search Managers to a four day training session in Lost Person Behaviour, Advanced Search Management and Lost Person Behaviour Instructor certification.
Cochrane Search & Rescue were also nominated as one of the recipients of the funds raised at the Kimmett Foundation Tournament of Aces held on October 1st, 2016, via a nomination from the Rotary Club of Cochrane. We were blessed to be awarded $40,000 which will be spent on purchasing a plethora of much needed equipment such as GPS Units, Radio Equipment, ATV Rider and Safety Equipment and much, much more.
In addition to these grants, we are continually supported by various local and national companies through discounts or pro-deals – please see below for a list of these companies and their websites.
And finally, although we were deeply saddened by his loss, we are also incredibly appreciative of the donations that came from the family and friends of Cameron Minni in his memory in September 2016. The money donated by Cameron’s loved ones will be used to ensure that our organization continues with our tradition: professional committed volunteers.
